Politicians in Kuwait are standing behind proposals to keep homosexuals from entering Gulf States. They have also recommended that Amnesty International stop supporting the LGBT community, calling the those with non-heterosexual lifestyles “delinquents.”
A member of the Kuwaiti health ministry proposed conducting medical tests on people attempting to enter Kuwait to determine if they are gay. Yes, you read that correctly. They have proposed a medical test on travelers to determine if they are gay, before allowing them to enter the country. Amnesty International called the plan “outrageous.”

It has been reported in The Independent that Kuwaiti lawmaker Abdul Rahman Al Jiran told daily paper Al Rai that “Amnesty International should take care of lofty and noble goals for which it was established, leave aside homosexuality and deviations and stop defending delinquents.”

Al Jiran also said of Amnesty International, while judging non-Muslims of the world, “The organization should heed the annual rates of births outside the institution of marriage in Europe and abortions as well as the high rates of underage mothers and other moral crimes forbidden by all divine religions.”

Homosexuality is banned in Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, and Oman. Though it is not outright illegal in Kuwait, anyone under the age of 21 who is found guilty of homosexual acts in Kuwait faces up to ten years in prison.

Newspapers have been shut down in the Middle East for showing sympathy for homosexuals and homosexuality is still punishable by death in Yemen, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
